Hey guys new stoker owner here, my first month with one that was in the house we bought. Its worked great up untill this morning when I woke up and it was mid 70s in the house and had I had work today by 430pm it would have ran itself out of coal. I happened to have a brand new thermostat I put it up and same thing, infact the furnace didnt even shut off when I disconnected the thermo. So wall thermo is good, does it sound like the hot box thermo is bad? As it stands when it reache s the 200degree pin itll finally shut off otherwise the other pins on the dial do nothing now.

Its forced air, older model no idea number cause I cant find any its a keystoker for sure cheap honeywell wall thermo, honeywell hot box thermo also

Welcome to the Coal board ! Hang on and keep checking back as we've got a few Keystoker Pro's that might just be able to get you pointed in the right direction. You've come to the right place !

Ya this site has helped me tons getting it running in the first place, the people who owned the house before got older and couldnt do the coal and ash thing so they went with oil, appareently they were loaded cause oil was way too expensive, for me to heat with so I used this site to get it fixed up and running for the first time in 3 yrs I think they said

Your "hold fire timer" likely has failed in the "ON" position...rotate clock by hand forward till the stoker stops...then wall stat will again work.
You will need to repair or replace timer to prevent an "out-fire" during an extended idle period.
Repair requires a new timer clock motor part from Keystoker dealer or Grainger...whole timer replacement from Keystoker dealer or Grainger also.
WARNING: Electrical skills required to work on/in timer. SHOCK and/or BURN or DEATH may result.

Thanx,Dr.McGiever ! Generally,if I don't have any direct experience with a unit, other than general help,I'll step aside. While some of it all is general automated stoker operating theory,I'd hate to steer someone wrong!

Very impressive sir! I followed up with you guys to tell everybody that I called keystoker today after work and after hardly any info from me he told me the same exact thing. I came home to see if the dial was spinning and its positioning, and it was stuck on the tab leaving it on! I spun it off and auger stoped, ive sat for half an hour and its finally working with the wall stat! You guys are great, this post needs not be forgotten as im sure theres tons of other guys with an issue such as this! Thanks a ton, had this been a holiday weekend or something id be screwed for days and a good chance my house could burn down due to an overheated furnace, imma firefighter so I know it happens far
too often. Thanks again guys, till next problem! /wave
