Just operating my hitzer50/93. What is the safest temp range to operate? My stove is in the garage and I am running fans into the house. My temp gauge on top of the stove is 350 . Storm on east coast expecting temps at 9 degrees tonight and tommorow night -4degrees. Thanks :D

I have an Hitzer insert and on the front of the stove is my thermometer. I will make sure I got an empty ash pan and have it up to 500-550 tomorrow night and go through about 75lb of coal. Normally I run it when it in the 20's at about 300-400. Above 32 its at 200-300.

X2 with Ctyankee, just move that thermometer from the top to the front right side near the top next to the door.
