Richard ,
I didnt mean to imply that they got any info from the site. I do some plumbing work and buy parts on line all the time. So Im guessing thats where they got me. Perhaps this is a question for Mr. Snowden. All I know is that if they come and inspect my heating system and tell me its not up to snuff, they gonna have to buy me a new one before Id take it out and they're gonna have to leave me their 24 hr "Ill be right there #" to fix it when it doesnt work.

Just about every retailer keeps track of everything someone buys, if you buy on line you'll shortly have pop-ups on other non-related sites like your E-Mail showing what you ordered & similar from different sources. Some stores will have coupons already printed on the back of your receipt for your next purchase, it doesn't happen accident, BB is watching.

Yes but generally speaking they don't share that information with the EPA.... It's going to be interesting to find out how this turns out to say the least.samhill wrote:Just about every retailer keeps track of everything someone buys, ....

Another benefit of never buying anything new.samhill wrote:Just about every retailer keeps track of everything someone buys, if you buy on line you'll shortly have pop-ups on other non-related sites like your E-Mail showing what you ordered & similar from different sources. This pretty much mirrors State Fire Marshall codes for units requiring inspection. If you were a commercial location or place of public assembly or 4 or more unit apartment bldg your boiler, if it had input over 200K, and it operated at less than 15 psi steam or 50 psi water, had to be inspected every 2 years by a commissioned boiler inspector licensed by the jurisdiction and holding a National Board commission. When it passed inspection the inspector filled out a report and sent it to the State Fire Marshal's office. They sent an invoice and when it was paid they sent you a certificate of operation which was good for 2 years or in the case of high pressure steam it was good for 1 year.
Now the EPA is getting in the act requiring you to do all the work and, trust me, there will be a fee involved which when you pay you will get another operating certificate. They are probably data mining the State Fire Marshal's data bases. If you have a boiler that requires periodic inspection by the Fire Marshal's office our your insurance company representative, your familiar with this. It's been law in most states since the 1940's. Lot's of repair companies and techs will get these notices because if you in a jurisdiction where the repair company rep can do the inspection their name will show up in the jurisdicition data bases.
If your not running high pressure steam or hot water boiler with an input over 200k, you run and apartment building with 4 or more units, or a place of public assembly ( the family coming over on the weekend doesn't count!) this is another way for the gov to make some money off the unsuspecting public.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if certain things bought aren't kept track of & shared, it seems like they can find the exact store that bomb making materials or crystal meth stuff comes from & if credit cards or local areas come into play they have a general idea, might just be NSA has something to do with it. They sure knew where those pressure cookers in Boston were bought in no time.

ohhh its NP... they will simply give credits & refunds to all those people who need new ones (the new one wont cost you a nickle since our Gov. likes to pay for everything and everyone)... not unlike the turn in your old stove and get $2k credit on a new one (dont ya know... some people had 100 old pre epa stoves sitting in their back yard.... nobody here im sure .... who traded in 27 of them and got 27 new stoves for pennies on the dollar and sold them after the gig was upwaldo lemieux wrote:Richard ,

I processed some of those credits...
2K was the biggest one most were 1k...
Ya had to have a pic of the stove installed...
Both the old 'dirty' stove and the new 'clean' stove...
All the specs and this came from the stove installer/dealer no direct to homeowner checks...
Most went to people who really needed the help...
