Just another winter day...12" here, -10 this AM, up to 6 now. Using more coal that normal (this is NOT a hint that we need to know 'How Much') 150 lbs a day......... Wind is not very user friendly....snow blower guys, oh my gawd. Bird feeders are full....a 44 Magnum fired just for kicks. They make a pellet stove look like some kind of toy. AA running as usual....no big deal. Cold down in Duxbury isn't it??? No joggers out this AM....weenies!

Here's the shot from my recently thawed out picture window. I'll go out after lunch when the wind is supposed to die down. Wish I hadn't left my cold weather gear in my work truck...

GREAT bumper stickers,Lisa, wish our oldest daughter would see it that way,she voted for the change Weather is brutal today,we had 4"-6",hard to tell with the crazy wind, 5* this morning,up to 10* at 11 a/m,i'm jealous of those who have a coal burner in their house,we were hoping to have one by now,but $$$ ,hopefully in next 2-3 weeks, meanwhile we will feed the outdoor wood monster lots of hard wood to keep all 3 buildings warm & hot water, stay safe &warm everyone.

For our Church the Iron Rod is a symbol of the Scriptures or the Word of God. By holding to the Iron Rod we can never lose the path back to Heavenly Father. Personally, no matter your Religion, I hope everyone has a desire to "know of and hold to the Iron Rod." We've had the Fe Rod plates for 30 years as a reminder to hold to the Iron Rod in all we do. They are also great conversation starter. Take care, Lisajpete wrote:Lisa, do I want to know what the "iron rod" plate is all about?

Nah, We were blessed to be the first in VA to request FE ROD. After 30 years, it would be weird to have anything else. The tags on my truck are LOWFOG and I'm not giving that up either. Maybe if I changed states and these aren't available... Stay warm, Lisatitleist1 wrote:Lisa, I was expecting your plate to read 'bee babe'

I enjoy bumper stickers - I get them made up and then put them on magnets so I can move them around depending on where we go; which ones will tweak the most people off. I like to watch in the rearview mirror as people read them. I can tell their political feelings by the reaction. I remember once when we were in Boston someone asking us about the gun stickers and then pointing out we obviously weren't from around there. The Pink Pistol is the one we get the most comments on and the one which disappears the most. Go figure!windyhill4.2 wrote:GREAT bumper stickers,Lisa, wish our oldest daughter would see it that way,she voted for the change...
Still 20* but the wind is dying down. Nothing is melting so no worry about refreezing tonight. I hope you are able to switch to coal sooner rather than later. In the meantime, Stay warm, Lisa

We are supposed to have the longest cold spell in 20 years here. Maybe they are counting this whole week too, except today and tomorrow. Low of -26 Sunday night and a high of -16 Monday, -21 monday night. Not a lot of snow but I don't even want to think about going to work that day and next. I think the coldest Ive ever seen here is like -34 so thats pretty close. Sure glad I don't live even more north.

We got about 6 inches of powder but damn it is cold. I can plow my place and my in laws but my wife's 90 y.o. aunt requires the use of my snow blower. Damn that was chilly!! My thermometer is digital and doesn't read below zero for some reason it just reads -0 no matter how cold. My father in law said we were at -6 but his wind gauge was frozen so we don't know wind chill. One of these days I will figure out the picture portion and start sharing! Stay warm!!! NWB
