Hi all sorry for my tartiness in getting back to all. I have got to say WOW I love this furnace. The problem I had with the coal was I did not load to the top of the brick I only filled it up to half of the brick. That went out by morning. The next night. I got home from work 4:30 fire going fine from a wood fire. I started right away loading it little by little with coal. I would say probably about every 20 min. to a half an hour I would shovel a couple of scoops in the stove until I filled it completey to the top of the brick. WOW what a nice burn! It took around 150 lbs of coal. I have not had any problems with this stove only the first couple of uses. Now it works like clock work. I am currently burning only wood. I fill it in the morning and fill it when I get home at 4:30pm and then top it off just before call it quits at 11:00pm. I have no fuss no mess no frustration. This stove is A number 1 in my book.
Oh, I almost forgot. I have a 6" masonary chimney with flue. I plan this summer to change the hookup to a 7" triple wall chimney with clean out I haven't measured it yet but I think it will be approx. 30' to the top. The 7" pipe is what the furnace calls for. I have it now necked down from 7" pipe to 6" into the chimney.
