EPA proposes new wood stove standards

They are going to keep at until they take away every means of being self sufficient you have available. They are talking about regulating home gardens, the local sale of fruits and vegetables, controlling the water usage on your property and so on and so on.
The deal about stoves is just a part of the long term plans of these malevolent bureaucrats.
Again, they are not going to stop.

Berkley ... figures. Just saying the word "Conservative" in that town will get you jail time.

Yet another reason to never buy anything new.

I suggest getting yourself a welder if you don't have one already. Looks like in the future, the only heating appliances we'll be able to afford are the ones WE BUILD ourselves.

Kevin

Masonry heater Kit is a Temp Cast Product. John's kits make the process of assembly straight foward. His kit really cut the time factor down on this leg of the project. As for the efficient burn claims, I'll refer you to John's web site Tempcast.com. For this customer the heater is more a visual thing. We installed heat pumps as a primary system. Heater works very well but at my house it's the o'l 520 :o

I would be afraid say the word conservative up in your neck of the woods also, haha. They seem to have calmed down, but I remember a point where Obama bumper stickers were all the craze up in Warwick.

They aren't going to stop. On this forum there are many who supported the president. I would love to know what words they will use to try to defend this action. I'm sure, somehow it's not BHO's fault.

Are they going to regulate tire burning stoves too? :o Ah crap, i'll be out of luck, lol

What will they have to do to make a wood stove, or any stove, 2014 epa compliant? Just what would this involve? I'm picturing a big catalytic on it for sure but if they slow the burn down even more then new ones now, they wont put any heat out.

I see the smaller company USA made ones just giving up on them. Too expensive to redesign them. Easier to quit making them. It will just leave the big guys, same crap every time. Will there still be EPA exempt stoves? Non-air tight?

Just talked with a guy at Lowes the other day that said his son just bought a new stove. It has the catalytic in it and it is a pain in the butt. Can't run it to hot, can't run it to cool, have to have perfectly dry wood(yeah right  ) They are looking for an old stove to buy. People want what works.
Thanks sperry, I will look it up. I see those being put up on the outdoor patios for the rich people here. I would like to get one myself and at least pretend to be rich. :P

Bingo. They want to make them too expensive to manufacture and too expensive to purchase. Therefore, you will not be able to or choose to buy one because it's no longer a viable option for you. An out and out ban is not their way, not at first anyway.

Course they would have a meeting in that liberal cesspool called Boston. Don't know if the yuppies that live in Boston even know what a wood stove is. That's all I don't want to get banned. Matt

Just hollow the stupid cat out as soon as you uncrate the stove at home, just like we used to do on all our cars before '96 model year. ;)
