It will work, you'll need to turn the air up. Strange there is no buck, that is usually plentiful along with pea.
My customers were about 40% Rice, 35%nut, 20% pea and 5% buck. If you call over Hudson they should have all the Buck you want.

really strange buck not available, never seen that before, rice should work as rich said

Buck isn't available in my area either. As mentioned, just adjust the air. I recently talked to someone who had been burning rice in a VA600 for many years.

The availability in farther away locations is understandable because of the lack of demand, if the dealer is not carrying it I'd ask about it. It certainly should be available at the source.
