Your body can only absorb a certain amount of minerals at a time so anything over that will be wasted.

The deal with multivitamins is that you get everything you need which you may or may not get from food.

Like vitamin c is required to absorb iron so if you don't get enough of one, you'll be low on the other. BTDT.

I take a multi-vit everyday, yes more than likely alot get passed out like vitamin C. But a multivitamin has several different vitamins and minerals like omega 3's and good doses of D and K you don't get abundance of.

Save your money, waste of time. Oh, a little PS, flu shots have about a 4% chance of working and as the H1N1 strain takes hold takes a hold the immuno suppression makes them a liability. Filter the air in your house with a MERV 13 system or better, electrostatic precipitators add to this effectiveness (antiviral). Forget antibacterial soap or hand cleansers. Stay warm and hang photos of Kirstie Maldonaro all over the house (don't question this one just Youtube PTX daft punk). OK, OK, so I'm not perfect. HAHAHAHAHAHAA, I slay myself.

Just had a discussion with a doctor about vaccine's in general and flu in particular. I didn't want to start a fight with him, he seemed like a nice guy but I'd venture to say, I've done more research than he on this topic.

I asked him if he thought it was better to actually get the flu because you get lifetime immunity from that strain and he claimed that was incorrect. Everything I've found says I'm correct.

So don't use that MERV 13 unless you have a depressed immune system to begin with. Your overall health will thank you.

And as an HVAC tech, your equipment and I will thank you. :)

Q: How long do flu antibodies last?

A: According to our study, it appears they can last the entire lifespan of the human organism — 90 years plus.

Linus Pauling was a two time Nobel prize winner and was the favorite to finally untangle the DNA puzzle.

His advice along with large amounts of vitamin C was to eat a wide variety of food since the needs of the body are only partially known as are the components of food.

The statement about expensive urine I can remember reading 50 years ago and it does not take into account the many thousands of studies that indicate the efficacy of foods and supplements.

Yes and Vit C works best with calcium. I used to take vit C every few hours, everytime I got a cold. Cut the time a cold would last in half or less.

That is, until I cut back on drinking milk. The colds went back to a week or more. Then the vit C and calcium connection was pointed out to me. I went back to washing vit C pills down with a glass of milk and the colds are back to lasting only a couple or three days.
