Leisureline Pocono or Keystoker 105?

Thanks, everyone. I only plan on being in my current house for another three years or so, so I wasn't planning on incurring the expense of putting in a coal furnace. Plus, my furnace is not located in the most practical place, and I'm not sure I'd be up to maintaining a coal furnace given where it would be located in my basement. That's why I'm looking at a stove for my main floor, which would heat the house pretty good except for two of the bedrooms and the bathrooms. I can live with chilly bathrooms for now, and we use space heaters for the two bedrooms. At least that's what I do now with our wood pellet stove that I'm looking to replace. The pellet stove doesn't keep up once the temps get into the 20s and below.

morabito, set the pocono in your living room,i'm assuming your oil furnace has hot air duct work, cheap solution is to turn the burner off & have the furnace fan circulate air which should solve the heat delivery to far end of house, fan could cycle by command of the t-stat or be set to run slow 24/7,no major investment required & you save money on fuel till you move.

Then a guess the rumors are true, the Gulfstream needs a new port engine. Can you do what I did with the AnthraKing, just tie into the existing ducting with a flex tube and bingo free coal central heat. No more chilly bathrooms and take it with you when you move. I just went through a -20* test that was kinda OK.VI like the Pocono better.

coalnewbie, just read his post 2 posts back where he explained why installing furnace in basement is not feasible, that is why I suggested what I did,low cost, easy install, not much to undue 2-3 yrs from now.

We had the gulfstream upgraded to coal months ago. No more Kerosene for us.coalnewbie wrote:Then a guess the rumors are true, the Gulfstream needs a new port engine. BTW we can dress up the Pocono a little for a living room situation.

For the living room, I would go with the Harman Super Magnum Stoker. I have a keystoker, with a direct vent, and a Harman in my upstairs living room.
The keystoker is great for a basement, the direct vent is too messy for a living room. Just my 2 cents

I agree...... Notice I have the 30-95, and the 50-93 Hitzer stoves. The 30-95 has one big fan, while the 50-93 has two smaller dual fans. The smaller dual fans are much quieter.Greyhound wrote:Have you heard either of them run? I have the Keystoker 105 and it is not quiet, IMO. Remember the combustion fan runs 24/7, I have it in the basement and not sure I would want it in my Living room. Also, will you be wanting to blow the heat into ductwork at all? I feel that the Keystoker blower is underpowered. I live in a 1 1/2 story house and it is a stretch to get the heat to the top floor from the basement, without additional duct blowers. My 2 cents, YMMV

Well, I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a pocono. Thanks everyone for your feedback. Flyer 5, what kind of things can be done to the pocono to dress it up a bit?

We can do the double rub rails between the doors and an ash vendor on the bottom. It breaks up the boxy appearance. Also we can do any color Stove bright paint makes. Depending if we have the color in stock that is the only delay that I can for see.morabito wrote:Well, I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a pocono. Thanks everyone for your feedback. We can also use a 320# hopper on the Pocono And Hyfire from our furnace and we have them galvalum steel or Stainless now.
