Thanks for the updates guys - lots of great info!

Craw4 - What you have mentioned about Brandon and Emery's comments are exactly what they've told me.

I'm going to call Emery tomorrow and get an update on the No. 3 they're working on. I checked the No. 2 I have - there is a bit of very worn nickel plating left on the dome, so it appears plating was an option. It would be great to find a Walker & Pratt catalog showing these base heaters. They must exist somewhere?

Good Time Stove used to have the Glenwood No. 6 catalog on line, but it's disappeared from their web site.

An interesting story about them - a woman I met in Claremont, NH took a 1914 Glenwood (probably an Oak) to them for restoration. When she arrived to get the finished stove, it was completely wrapped in bubble wrap. When her husband finally got around to installing it - low and behold it was a 1916 much less attractive Glenwood which has never worked properly. Unfortunately, they didn't confront Sarah the "Stove Princess" or the owner about the switch. I've heard from Emery they are sleazy - and EXPENSIVE.

Hope to get the Hub Heater in place this week - pictures will be forthcoming.

Chris

Fellas...I know it's a little late but I wanted to upload my favorite picture of it not running. by rule of coal burning any picture of it running is better than as art, but with the unit freshly unloaded from the shipping crate, the nickle and finial installed, it's beautiful with the sun shining in the background. I'm so glad that I stayed with the search. I started on here a little over a year ago searching. I really like the gold paint on the raised work. It really sets the stove apart. Thanks, everyone, for all the help and information.

:o , that pic really shows the size of the top oven on those, and reveals another feature that explains alot about why they are such heat monsters. the cylinder is almost entirely sheet metal barrel, just enough cast for a door and adjusters.

i may never be able to make a choice.  :P

My wife took this one and sent it over. She is a photographer when she's not chasing after 3 kids. She takes better pictures than I do and thought she'd be funny and take it as I was covering the back window for her so she could get a detailed shot of the stove.

That stove is so pretty it's hard to look away. It is absolutely stunning. The highlighted features are an elegant touch and they reveal the intricate detail in the castings. It's a pretty lady with a big punch.

That is one fine looking heating machine. Truly another work of art. Good luck with her and stay warm.
