I'm uploading a rough drawing (I'm NO artist) of my house's floor plan so you can see what I'm working with. I'm only doing the main floor because I'm not worried about the upstairs. Even our gas logs that don't heat the main floor at all warm the upstairs fine given their location and the wide open stairway. For as old as our house is its pretty amazing how open it is. I guess maybe because they were only putting in the one fireplace and wanted to be able to heat the house with it?? At any rate, its open which works to our advantage. So here ya go!

Looks like you'll get some good circulation with that layout , hope your stove hunt goes well! When I was growing up we used to hang a blanket in front of the stairs to keep the heat downstairs , than we would open it around dinner and the heat would go up stairs

Floor plan looks conducive to your stove plans in regards to ability to move heat. My only concern is your passage way to outdoors for ashes and bringing in fuel.

Oh yeah, lol...I didn't draw the exterior doors! Well there's an exterior door in the room with the fireplace and our back door is in the laundry room which is right beside the garage, which is where the coal would be.
