This fan came out of a kitchen exhaust hood that someone gave me and it was new. As many of you know these fans have a multi-speed rocker switch. As you can see I took it out of the hood and mounted it in my basement ceiling under a floor grate in a linen closet that has a louvered door. This closet is located at the end of my hall in front of the 2 bedrooms of a one story ranch and a perfect location for air movement, as soon as this fan is turned on you can feel the wall of heated air race down the hall and into the bedrooms at the end of the house. My coal stove is located in my living room at the furthest possible point from the fan about 30 feet. I have a stove in my basement as well and this fan is directly in front of that stove which pushes hot air through vents above... so this fan is multi used and does a great job for the price, free! I would like to slow this baby down, even on it's low setting it moves quite a bit of air. What type of control do I need?....it is presently wired with a 14/2 plug. Thanks.
I want to state that this fan is pulling air from the living space to the basement which does a better job than blowing air around the upstairs!
