Because my Stockton supplier ran dry, I made a run to a distant supplier and picked up a few weeks worth of Kimmel. I've heard a few members say they've had good luck with it, so I'm going to give it a test drive. I've been told it's a bit oily, so I'm gunna try and keep it out of my coffee and laundry.

I always liked it, burned it for better than 10 years, BTF "Before this forum". I made all my assumptions on my personal experience, I kind of assumed it all came from the same mine, but they are a packaging company, I do not believe they currently have a mine.

Currently burning it in the handfed, I am very satisfied. Lights off quickly on reloading, shakes easily, have not had any issues with it.

It's been a weird mix for me this season. Lots of wood. Lots of stone. Found several bags of nut actually contained pea. It's still burning well and keeping me warm though. In fact my winter stock is running low. I'll be making a run to American in a week or so.

Was after shaking, before reloading. I also have a little wooden wedge that I use to keep the baro closed during shaking and reloading, gets the fire going faster. I just have to remember to remove it after I am done. :o

I've found various sizes of coal, but that's to be expected with bagged. A few bits of wood here and there, nothing else.

I follow the exact same procedure every time, and I don't allow myself to get distracted (it is very easy). I also do not shake and refill right before I have to leave in the morning, got tired of driving back home to make sure I closed the ash door (it always was closed BTW).
