DVC 500 Feeder Fork has play in it

DVC 500 Feeder Fork has play in it

PostBy: Matt K On: Fri Jan 24, 2014 12:08 am

I have been having an issue with my stove the last few weeks. I can not get it to burn faster that about a number two flame. I changed the ESP sensor at the suggestion of the dealer. That did not help. yesterday I noticed that the fork has a lot of play in it so it is not moving as much coal as it should. Is there and adjustment to tighten it up or do I need to take the stove apart to replace parts. It is running below zero so I would like to put it off a little while.

If the space gap is same as Mag Stoker it should be 1-3/4" inside.
But if it stretched wider you will need to solve that or it will just stretch again.
Usually it is from binding the pusher block.

I had the same problem, make sure there isn't any debris or large coal stuck in front of the pusher block. Also you might have to squeeze the fork to approx. 1 3/4" with a clamp. Squeeze at the middle of the fork not the end.

Make sure you clean the stove and exhaust my DVC 500 does not burn well when too much fly ash builds up.

You should be able to move the pusher block back and forth with your hand. At least as far as the fork will let you. If you can't you might want to consider pulling the block out and cleaning underneath it. As other before me have stated, if the block is binding, it will spread the fork.

Harman used to use a closed loop instead of a fork, I'm wondering why they abandoned it.
