I went past the place I buy my off-road fuel from yesterday. Price was $3.79

Not sure if they charge for delivery  but if they do it has to be at least $3.99 delivered.

but the same depot may charge customers [delivery trucks as you put it above] at different rates due to what they "locked in" while the bulk was being delivered to the bulk plant. Every wholesale company has an allocation - if suddenly they acquire a new large customer - well they will have to pay the open market price to fill their bulk truck while the whole sale customer still sucking on his allocated fuel is paying at ( or closer to) his allocation.

Sound like home delivery??? :?

According to that web site, I've saved 1300 already this year, figuring on saving 2k by the end of the heating season.

I know folks living in nice homes with the tstat set at 55f, poor bastards.

Hey, if you can afford heating oil, you can afford coal.

No reason or excuse not to switch if you own your own home.

Feel bad for those paying that much money to their sheep herders, but remember it is their choice.

I did not know too much about coal, but when i purchased my home, i knew i wasnt buying oil.

Many thanks to Richard for starting the forum!

When I bought my coal boiler in 2003, fuel oil was .89 here and had just jumped to .99. I was outraged and decided it was time for a coal boiler. I had heated with wood for 20 years but had given that up for a couple of years due to back problems. (guess why I had back problems)

I heard on NPR today that there is a huge shortage of propane in the South and yet we are exporting our supplies over seas. This is due to the fact that we made a contract with these foreign countries before the shortage when our prices were cheaper then their domestic prices. Makes perfect sense to me!! Now we will all have to pay higher prices for fruits vegetables and chicken due to fuel increases on something we have plenty of. Wow, just Wow!!
