When the stoker runs the stack temp goes up, but of the stoker hasn't run in 20-30 minutes, there is very little change in stack temp. over the course of another hr or two. It is possible that my BBQ thermometer isn't sensative enough to monitor this sort of thing.

I can grasp what you're saying about your personal set-up, but lf the members who do experience the out fires too often due to poor draft and have not found that sweet spot where the timer gets them past that point, then just maybe a perfectly timed cycle coming in response to the cooling of the stack would be just the ticket.
One could possibly try to set the timer to a more frequent interval and perhaps try to "cover all the bases" but that takes more coal and could lead to having to hit the "dump zone" if excess heat is made. What timer adjustment works today could be wrong any other day.

Does anybody know how to set a Willburt 20350 timer? I can't find any instructions anywhere. I think mine is cycling on too often. Also, should the Winter settings be about 2 minutes every 30 minutes? ....CJScottscoaled wrote:Thought new EFM's came with a Wilburt timer.

Crazy new-fangled gadgets!!
In the photos it looks like I have it set for under 2 minutes, but that printed scale is not accurate. Actual run time is about 2 min. 10 sec.
The timer will run the stoker regardless of what's going on with calls for heat, etc., as stated, unless the boiler is at or above the high limit setting.
With the massive chimney here no amount of messing with the timer prevented out fires in the summer. It stays the same now, about 2 minutes once an hour. When I see a cold morning followed by a warm afternoon in the forecast, or when we get into the Summer months I switch on the draft inducer. It has been shut off for quite some time now.In the photos it looks like I have it set for under 2 minutes, but that printed scale is not accurate. Actual run time is about 2 min. 10 sec.
