Mis dialed or followed a wrong link quite alive and well quoted 312 a ton but comes out to 375 for a pallet so buying a long ton and selling a short ton I am guessing. Delivery is 75 to Mystic from Branford.
$312/ton ... seems high ... am I wrong here?

Blaschak Coal- Nut, Pea & Rice
Discount Price: $285 per ton & 1.2 skid $342
(Cash or check payment)

Regular Price: $294 per ton & 1.2 skid $353
That's the pricing that was listed when I ordered mine. When I called they said the price was wrong on their page, then recited a disclosure from the page stating the prices on their webpage may not be accurate.

Its a secret I guess ... anyway, I thought the prices were going down?

Their web page does not state price may be wrong...

Sorry it was the price you posted, it was marked $275/ton, I paid the $285/ton plus $150 delivery. They were very nice as was the driver. It came in the time window they said. My first purchase from them and it was a good experience other than the $10/ton price difference. I just wish their truck could have carried more than the 5 skids I bought. 6 skids will last me two years, 5 may not quite make it.

Last year I used a little under 3 1/2 ton with a pretty cold winter and a warm house. I was hoping to get 7 ton to pretty much make sure I was covered for the next two seasons.

Called them yesterday and 122 to deliver 2 pallets to Mystic CT so Dan's seems to be a better deal for me. The coal is slightly more but delivery more reasonable so cheaper for the total bill. I did run the numbers and coal is going to be a lot more than wood at 190 a cord delivered so hope the convenience is worth the cost. It comes to 824 for 2.4 tons delivered. For that price I can buy 4.3 cords of wood almost enough for 2 years. So a we shall see thing. I did use the calculator online here to make the comparison. I guess if I can sleep more and load the wood stove less it should all be worth it though a larger wood stove would solve that problem as well.

$122 seems excessive to me. Any others think so too?

Not to bad considering it is only for 2 pallets. Other companies in past years used to charge me $150 for the first ton, then significantly less for each additional ton. Realistically it costs them about the same to deliver 1 pallet as 2 in this case.

You are 15 minutes from me who do get coal from along with cost and delivery charge. If I could afford more would buy more.

I bought from BT Entrerprises this year as mentioned here for the first time this year (cost is in this thread). I have bought all my previous coal from ctpellet over the past years.

CoaldHeat possibly not placing a large enough order on my part to keep them interested.

I checked with BT Pellets before ordering from http://www.pelletsdirect.com/Wood%20Pellets%20Pricing.htm again this year. Bt was $285 a ton but they wanted $150 for delivery. Ended up buying three 1.2 ton pallets at $295 a ton & $59 delivery from Pellets Direct.
