Stoves/Boilers/Furnaces orders delivery times?

Are we getting delays in getting our coal appliances as it was 4 years ago? Just curious now that propain and oil are through the roof again  I joined the forum in May of 2009 on the tail end of the back order nightmare for many. It did not effect me as I already was in business with my hand fed, and was on a upgrade path with new Keystoker 90.

I haven't heard of any delays on new equipment...and there is plenty of used stuff available. I think right now finding an installer would be the biggest challenge.

Yep, the installer is often the long pole in the tent. When I ordered my Yukon-Eagle Klondike in July 2010, it was in the installer's possession within 10 days. It then took them SIX MONTHS to finish the installation! While they did a nice job, it seemed to me that every single smaller job took precedence over my bigger job. Oh well, water over the dam. The furnace works great now, and with the price of propane skyrocketing, is paying for itself far quicker than even I thought it would!! :D :D

Not yet, but it is getting close for us anyhow. Normally our inventory is low this time of year and we have a lull in sales. This year we have not seen the lull yet. I am not complaining but we have to be careful. If we order to much too early and sales drop we run out of cash flow. If we don't order enough then we run out of inventory. Its a balancing act. I believe that is partially what hurt the original Harman co, too much in inventory. My suggestion for anyone looking for next year no matter who you are deciding to buy from to do so early. This year is set up very similar to 2008. Dealers are low on inventory and are cutting back on what they stock. So the manufactures are doing the same. But oil prices and propane are high, Nat gas just shot up over a dollar higher. Just my observations from being in the industry. Others can probably give their 2 cents as well.

Heck, I just took delivery of 2 tons of coal, and it was 30 more than in the fall. I don't begrudge the dealer, but prices are headed up for everyone.
