Been looking at whats available for bulding one. 2 companies i think i like: 1 Stag http://www.stagarms.com/ar15-rifles/, and 2cd Palmettoe State Armory http://palmettostatearmory.com/. Wish one of them offered it in a .243 winchester cal, but they don't.

There are companies out there that offer AR's in the 7.62 family of cal. You just need to search for the cal you want. But along with it will come a premium price.

Rock River carries a 6.8 mm version of the AR. 270ish caliber. DPMS makes a 243 AR. Try Armalite also. Have you seen the new Stag Arms AR compliant for NY. Had one in my hands last night- no sights- $959.00

I started with a stag model 3, must have the plus package and bolt upgrade.

I've been pleased with stag stuff, but could probably do better on price if you wanted to do the leg work yourself. Model 3 is a nice base.

like I said, many companies make a wide variety of what you are after. The only thing to decide is how much you are willing to pay. I have a LWRCI M6, Armilite AR10, and a few cheaper versions. They all are good.
