Yep I read it. Like so many other manufacturers they became victim to changing business practices, greed, and manufacturing practices. Their "common" stove is today's work of art.

This stove was acquired by a family that had owned it from new, so I am the second owner. This stove has not been used for many years, but is complete and ready for a complete restoration"!

I guess if you were an experienced welder, had lots of time and correct materials, and could pick it up for 1/2 price, it may be doable. you'ld have to want it pretty bad tho. Too bad.

I would offer $500 if I lived closer and had any money after saving the dog .

I live 10 mins from a foundry and could weld those cracks up as well .

I think that it's something that should be saved to be honest and I think $500 is the Max you can ask for a fair price . I know something's are rare but something is only worth what one person is willing to sell it for and what the other people are willing to buy it for .

I get more joy out of giving stuff away to folks who really are excited about stuff like this. Would the world be a better place if we all thought like that?
