Crane 404, I do not see the rectangular baffle on this stove, there is evidence by the 6"exhaust , (pic) that it may not be there. It should not be hard to fab one, A pc of rectangular flat, and to pcs of U bolted on or welded.

A missing part, ~~~ needs a price reduction. That 404 is pretty good ,but high priced if that baffle is missing.

Your welcome, Kevin.

If there are no cracks,.... and as the ad says there's a new set of grates ($250.00-$300.00) and new plating, ....... that would make that $1500.00 more tolerable, if the price is firm ?

They are such great looking stoves. I wonder how much work something like that needs at $2500?

It's felt that the old stove is superior in styling and performance in much the same way as a used Mercedes will fetch more than a new Chevy. Naturally condition will determine value.

That's what I'm saying. That stove in serviceable condition should fetch more than a couple grand, wouldn't it? I thought I've seen those BBs here on this site, (overhauled), would cost upwards of 4-5 grand. I would never pay it, but I think others would.

For $2,500 I better be able to put it in the corner, build a fire in it and take pictures of the cat sleeping next to it. :P
