I have been eyeballin' this for a week or so, I do wish it had prismatic grates though. What are your thoughts on the cracked flue collar...easy fix or replace?
Franco's correct. Someone added that round grate and cut through the right side of the ash drawer for a shaker handle. That's an air leak that will interfere with the primary air control.
It's one of the smaller of the Glenwood Modern Oak series. 14 inch pot. After being lined, it would be a 12 inch pot and hold about 40 pounds of nut coal.
You can get a recast triangular grate frame from woodman's Parts.http://www.woodmanspartsplus.com/170753 ... Frame.html
And Bryant Stove, or one of the other stove shops may have recast triangular grate bars ?
You can get 3/4 inch triangular socket shaker handles off eBay.
Then you just need to close up that hole cut in the right side of the ash drawer so you have better control of the primary air.
As for the cracked parts, they can be welded. One thing to look for with the Modern Oaks is a crack in the firepot, right at the front lower edge, where there is a screw hole in the pot to attach it to the base.
