I have one of these. This stove will heat a big shop with the blower or without. As you can see in the pic's the top swings open, I built a plenum above mine and blow the heated air into my return vents and heat my un-insulated 1100 sq. ft. basement in north central Maine...a real bargain!!

I appreciate the thought but I haven't come across a fireplace yet. Most of the houses in the area were built between 1890 and 1940. Fireplaces were considered a luxury. What I deal with is a shared internal chimney on a shared wall in a row home. One chimney serving two houses. Not two flues, one flue two houses..The older places had two chimneys. One tall one at the peak and a shorty at the common kitchen wall between the two houses.

Two houses, one chimney. If one guy uses oil and the other wants to put in a coal stove, code enforcement nixes the idea because of dissimilar fuels in the same chimney. Forget that they all did it before the code came in. That's irrelevent. We are edujamacated now in the modern times..... :P

^^^ ditto, the "Gold Marc" would be the best $80.00 spent. The manufacturer of these is now a machine shop in Monticello N.Y. (same bulding), and parts can be had.

we need to establish a "stove railroad" where willing members pick up stoves and take them to the next nearest member and the stove keeps getting "lateraled" till it gets to Rev Larry.

as a means to an end, i will forward the purchase price of the "Gold Mark" to anyone who can view and establish it as workable condition and move it down line.

this is the second NO BS offer of this type i have made, any takers ?

PM me.

Hey Steve, that RR makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't mind helping out with that, to some extent. I'm in Northern Ct, and could probably do stoves around this area, and head to the southern part of the state. Problem at this time tho, is my truck spit out a valve, and I'm in the middle of patching it up.

Notice the exhaust valve. need time to get it back together.

Steve
I also made the offer a number of times. I'm about an hour south of Binghamton NY, and another hour north east of the Rev.

I'm willing to travel an hour or so to pick one up, take it back to the shop, give it a little TLC, and drop it off to Larry when I head down towards Ashland.

It might be a good idea to start a separate thread something like " Heat Ministry RR" where interested members can give their input.
