In the last few years I've seen them sell for $450 to $650....but also have seen asking prices higher.....don't know if those sold or not.

How ironic you should ask! Yesterday out of boredom I called a shop in Bangor that carries V.C. stoves and they had ONE coal burner, a Vigilant II 2310 and told me $1979.00 with a $200.00 rebate. Most stoves in the shop were pellet and some wood stoves. Their fuel cost calculator had wood pellet and coal almost identical...a big sham!
I see them as Freddy stated and up to 1000.00. I think if you see one for $450.00 to $650.00 in good shape is a bargain.

I would think 4 to 5 hundred once the heating season is over. Good condition, less if parts are needed. Prices on craigslist seem very high to me for all stoves at this time.

Thank you very much for the replies
I have replaced my Vigilant 2 with a larger stove. I had a neighbor ask me if I wanted to sell the VC and I told them yes, but had no idea what price to ask for.
After looking on e-bay one was priced higher than the cost of a new one.

The price range you all indicate seams reasonable to me. I don't wish to take advantage of anyone, just to be fair.

Thanks again, Bill
