Samhill, you're doing a good thing. I too take care of a 90 yr old woman who can afford heat, but is otherwise defenseless. Last time I was over, during the last storm we had a couple of drinks together!!! :D Her only concerns were that I take the empty booze bottles with me. Because she doesn't want anyone to know she drinks; and the next time I went to town could I pick up another jug!!! :P God bless her at 90 :D

I think we maxed out at 8" out my way. Did 3 separate clearing passes and then it changed over to rain, and now the temps are dropping for a nice crust.

I'm really getting sick of the caterwauling about having snow storms in snow belt regions. Naming snow storms make me vomit, especially the Weather Channel has one name and each state has their own, it's beyond pathetic.

Checked with my youngest in NH, he's looking at 12-18 and figured it was great time to Hike Mt. Monadnock...or maybe not. :D

What I would complain about is zillions of my tax dollars going to NOAA and they can't even approximately guess my weather.

And the government does what right ??our weather radio is always on for the alert feature, but we have found AccuWeather to be the most accurate for our area.

Perhaps another foot to add to close to 2 feet sitting on the drive, it's tough to measure accurately as now the winds are blowing stuff around. However, I'm not allowed to complain so I will be quiet.

7:00pm here in V-Ville

14" +/- hard to tell with the drifting. This was one of the heaviest wet snows for me this season, wet enough that I couldn't use the small tractor. I had to bring out the JD110 to start piling up the snow to get down the drive.

Waiting on round two, looks like I'm in for another couple inches or maybe some ice in they next few hours.

I don't know, I think they all do a fairly good job. After all it changes like the weather 8-) I get my forecast from Erie & they do the shore, inland & then mountains & they are all effected differently from the same pattern, I think Erie is still the city with the highest snowfall this year so everything inland gets more, in many ways the areas South of Rt.90 & North of Rt. 80 get hammered the most no matter which way it comes & as HB knows there is nothing like lake effect, ya gotta love it. ;) I hope everyone here weathers this one OK & the next isn't anywhere near as bad. Did I say next!

coalnewbie, you are correct,no complaining about the weather you are experiencing ,but it is ok to complain about other people who do complain about the weather. You can also complain about GM,or stupid people, bad drivers, etc, not about the weather.I won't complain about the weather either, I feel very blessed that the freezing rain wasn't real bad,it only snowed about 12" instead of 18",that could change as the rest of the storm circles in tonight yet,but then i will be thankful if we only end up with 18" instead of 24".So far i only had to blow the roof off once,of course i would not have had to do that if the beer keg influenced idiot who built the roof had left a sober, knowledgeable person do the job properly as in put the proper slope on the roof so we wouldn't have to worry about the snow load.I guess the beer influenced him into thinking that he was living in the south, what an idiot!!!! :mad3: Yep,samhill, you did say next, that will be friday nite/saturday morning, but we will only get blessed with 2-3" :D

Nooo, you can complain all you want, just don't be one of those who've lived in a Snow region you're whole life and act like you've never seen a Snow storm before.

And I wasn't picking you out, because we know better than that.
