Aging is a privilege that not everyone gets to enjoy!
Started burning coal last November after 20 plus years with wood (supplement to oil). Now oil is the supplement to coal! Love it, and wish I had found coal (and this excellent online community) many years ago!

35 here. New to coal myself but relatives have burned it for decades. Grew up in a house with the coal bin (empty) in the basement and a boiler the size of a compact car that had been converted to oil.

Lying flat on his back.....and FF is being 'measured ' like a Dinosaur!? Young whippersnappers have a lot to learn.......and guess what: Experience is the best teacher, and no matter how smart you may think you are, 'Dino' will kick our arses three times before we figure out where the thrashing came from. He was putting soldiers back together, or making attempts to save lives before many of you were born, over in the Land of the Yellow Man. An old Marine IS STILL a Marine!!! Now after all these years, we become the 'Next Generation', but please remember that we AIN'T going out easy, quietly, or peacefully......most of us EARNED the right to be who we have become.

I installed a Surdiac in my fireplace many years ago, 1970's. Black dust and ash dust in my living room. Installed a Jenson add on to my hot air system in the basement. Worked better the the other. Now I have the best. After a remodel I remove the hot air and installed hot water system. Five years ago I installed a Keystoker KA-6 Boiler and things are GREAT! Added a auger from the coal bin to the hopper and I just empty the ashes.
