I am not much a NHL fan these days. Reasons, I despise the fights. And I really believe the rinks are too small for the world's best players.

Olympic hockey before the professionals was much better for me to watch, wide open skating, crisp passing and great goal tending. That's what I like. The bump & grind, dump & chase in the NHL bores the crap out of me. Bigger rinks allows forwards to skate the puck into the opposing zone.

But watching today's game USA vs Russia was very exciting. Big rink, no fights ( as expected due to strick rules), tremendous goal tending, and fast skating and quick wrist shots. USA just beat Russia which ended in a 2-2 tie, 5 minute sudden death OT & a planned 3 round shootout which was extended 8 rounds. What a game!

I was hoping they would play it on NBC so I could see it as I love hockey. I'm so glad they won! GO USA!

I love all the Olympic sports and have watched it every night so far. They all try so hard to win and I cant say that for pro sports.

I love hockey.. All aspects honestly. I watch NHL just about daily during the season. Any teams but favor Pittsburgh. when I was in college back about 18 years ago we used to go to pittsburgh penguins games whenever they were home on the student rush program. which at that time was best unsold ticket in the arena for $25. heck of a deal. Then again. The penguin were one of the absolute worst teams in hockey at that time! but have built back with good drafts since. Anyway! Still enjoy all hockey.

Todays game was awesome. USA/RUSSIA. I really felt Russia should have won this time based on paper. thats why they play.

PS ALL Olympic Hockey is televised on the NBC Sports Network. If you get that station. I believe none of it will be on NBC Network unless the US gets to a medal game (which they should). then you might see that medal game on Broadcast.

Realistically it should be USA, Russia, Canada vying for Gold/Silver/Bronze. No particular order.

Grew up with the Boston Bruins in the '70s we would go to the fights and a hockey game would break out! :)
