The cities of Medina and Wadsworth are about 8 miles apart. I'm 4 miles from either, being right between them.
Current temps as I'm typing this per various sources:
Accuweather Medina = minus 1
Accuweather Wadsworth = minus 10
Weather Channel Medina = minus 7
Weather Channel Wadsworth = plus 1
NOAA Medina = minus 12
NOAA Wadsworth = minus 12
Intellicast Medina = minus 11
Intellicast Wadsworth = minus 11
What to believe?

Microclimate
The microclimate is a local atmospheric zone where the climate differs from the surrounding area. The term may refer to areas as small as a few square feet or as large as many square miles. Wikipedia
It can be quite pronounced.
That, or the temperatures have not been updated recently on some of the reports

I don't believe my laser thermometer outside. It always seems very low, its range is -36F to 900F back during the last cold snap it would read LO when I would point it at the front wood porch. I can only assume that it thought the temperature was less than -36F.

FFred, I couldn't find any Heating Degree Days (HDD) info for Freetown,NY, but nearby Cortland, NY had 1,455 HDD's for January, and Wadsworth, OH had 1,428. Hardly a noticable difference.
Perhaps February has been different?
Nope, so far this February Cortland, NY is sitting at 833 HDD's, and Wadsworth, OH is sitting at 836 HDD's.

Well I'll be damned! I'm now an Official Ohioninnion ! My tears froze on the way to work. 9.5 miles to the South I picked up -14*. Passed up the Cheese/Wey Plant and that entire area was socked in almost to 0 visibility with Fog from the Batch Processing going on. You're right,Fred,it was earily still here also....The Road in that plant area had Frost from the Fog plated out heavily. Damned Skating Rink.....The Amishers had to Chuckle at us Crazy English coming through!
