A funny thing happend on the way to raising the debt ceiling

It was not raised, but rather it was eliminated. The US National debt ceiling now stands at infinity.

BTW, I had to misspell "happened" in the subject line because I ran out of characters.

Cool. They finally took my advise. Now we can get down to the serious work of crashing the dollar.

Personally, I think Bitcoin is going to be the new currency. Just a hunch though.

You know, if they'd all just stop spending all the damned money on stupid stuff they wouldn't need to raise the debt ceiling to Buzz Lightyear to infinity and beyond.

I'm just saying.

Grumpy, what do you mean now they can start destroying the dollar? It's already been destroyed and isn't worth the cloth/paper it's printed on anymore. When they stopped backing it with gold or silver or tea leaves it lost all it's worth anyway. Now it's just, we need more money turn on the presses boys!!

Am I incorrect in the idea that passing the debt ceiling is just paying what we already owe (& was approved by Congress) the continued borrowing part is because we continue to spend more than we take in but the debt was already spent. I guess we could cut more school lunches or leave them alone & have the houses drink tap water rather than bottled. Must be an awful warm thirsty job to drink that much water for the little time there.
Not all that much but a million here & a million there would be a start. Heck when I was at work you didn't get any coffee, water or anything else unless you supplied your own & then it was only if you got a break.

Who said anything about not being grateful, it was all part of the job. At one time I think most worked like that, it gave people good work ethics. I know many have jobs with plenty of perks & more power to them but it wouldn't hurt for those in power to set good examples rather than putting themselves above others, just an old mill hunks opinion.

Raising the debt limit is the same as you raising your credit card limit.

It's so you can continue to spend money you don't have.
