Awesome results you are getting!!
I found that having a second ash pan is helpful. But with my basement installation the local decorating committee has not complained about my process which includes leaving the second pan next to the stove. You may be in a different situation!
In the morning I swap out the full for the empty, and there is no need to throw the switch to keep the ash from dropping off the grates while there is no pan there.
I leave the full one next to the stove to cool off. Minimal bonus heat from the pan. No hot ash floating up from the pan as it gets carried out.
After the pan cools I take it outside to dump, either that night or next morning whichever weather is less nasty. If heavy rain/snow persists, then I swipe the pan from the hand fed and bring it into the rotation too!
