I'll bet you were like a kid in a candy store, picking up your pieces. Sorry to hear they boned up on your extended barrel. It seems it's just one thing after another with those guys. Maybe you can use the new barrel for the stove you've always wanted to build. Outfitted with high compression and dual quads. :D

Nice vision Scott, I applaud your hybrid modification style without changing it's original appeal. I've read this thread 3 or 4 times this morning, (don't know how I missed it earlier). Keep up the good work!

Thanks Bro....I picked up a length of sonotube today and spoke with the plating shop in Holyoke MA to drop off the nickel.....slowly inching forward.

I have to do some grinding to final fit the fire pot to the support casting then it's off to Skip's for its weld repair.

Scott do not put that barrel on without rolling the ribs in it. It looks like they welded the seam??

No worries Skip your on deck to make me a proper one 36 inches in length!

I'll drop that off with the fridge on the next visit toothy

Today I trial fit the "mould" :D

10 inch tube will result in a fat 3/4 inch of refractory.

Wonderful story. Typical of the struggles of many of the early innovators.

Here is the36 inch barrel from Skip :D

Joe....not yet. I have to wait for the fire pot support and base casting are finished being welded at Skip's.

I have a feeling he is just about done. Then the fire pot can be sent out for its thermal barrier coating and have the refractory done.

Soon :D
