Hi Freddy and Marty :) .. Although I haven't met anyone here on the forum in person, I feel like I have gotten to know a few of you over the last few years. My wife is a little dumbfounded by it even. I often find myself thinking about forum conversations that are currently ongoing or conversations that have came and went. I even have my own image a few of the characters here ("characters" in a meaningful way). I just wanted to say that yourself and Marty cross thru my thoughts even when I'm not at the computer. Words tend to elude me at times like this so I hope its appropriate if I say, I sincerely hope for the best for you both.

I was only 16 when my father was killed in a farm accident,i had only briefly talked to him when i got home from school,30-40 minutes later we were trying to get the overturned tractor off his body. That was a very devastating time,no time for a goodbye.I can still relate to others in the same situation. In 1997 my father-in -law died 5 weeks after an operation for a massive stroke,no goodbye again unless what we said in his coma counts.Again,i can relate to others with similar experience. Freddy,... when it comes to watching a spouse slowly die & unable to "fix" the problem,........ i can only try to imagine the helpless feelings, among others. I just can't quite relate to your situation,i can only offer my heartfelt thoughts, sympathy & prayers.Freddy & Marty, may God grant you both His wonderful, heavenly peace while you travel your last hours together.Tears make it hard to type,so hopefully i made a little sense :cry2:

Thank you all for caring.

Long night. I'm sure I'll sleep half the day once Eloise get's here. Marty's sister Carla is here. That helps, but she has slept through the night. I slept from 10 to midnight. It's a tough time for Marty.

Freddy, Caps comment made me recall that Marty & yourself have been on Reverend Pauls prayer list for a few weeks now, he's from the Jefferson Medical Center near Pittsburgh & read some of the posts last time he was here. As a personal friend of ours he offered & it never hurts the hit it from all directions, he's a Baptist Minister originally from the Virgin Islands so prays with a bit of a Jamaican accent so if Marty should hear a strange voice in her subconscious it's nothing to be alarmed about. Take care & stay strong.

Thank you all for the thoughts & prayers. Marty is slipping to the other side. We set up the hospital bed in the living room. It gives us room to turn her & do what we can for her. Yesterday she drank maybe two cups of liquid. Just now she woke & with difficulty we got her on the potty..... she has seen her last trip to the bathroom. *sign* Step by step, the process is non stoppable. I have seen it before. I suspect she will stop drinking altogether later today or tomorrow. Then, the 72 hour clock starts. Lots of tears yesterday. More to come I'm sure.

On the bright side. Last night my young (handsome) friend Paul stopped by. Marty sat up for him and announced she was dumping me for a 30 year old. For 10 brief seconds she was with us. Then she said she couldn't leave me & back to sleep she went.

Never has the printed words of a man's heart caused me the immediate emotion and depth as this thread...a true love story and for that I am honored to know you and Marty. God bless all that touch this my good friend. The love of another is unparalleled and will live forever. I pray and look forward to the "True Meet and Great" if you get my drift.
