I'm probably looking too far into this, but I see a lot of posts about mixing sizes. How is this accomplished? Is it as simple as a bag of this and a bag of that into the hopper? Or is there some magic to get a homogeneous mixture?

P, the only people I know, including myself, that mix, persay, Stove & Nut, do bulk delivery & they mix themselves pretty well comim off the truck conveyer wise---as for bag for bag???????? Try a few bags--alternate in your hopper & see how it works--What sizes are you thinkin about?

Pea is about the size of a quarter and the only stokers I know you can use it in is the losch, AHS and the A-A.
Buckwheat is the next size up from rice and roughly the a size of a dime and shouldn't be a problem in most stokers. The smaller size is barley and should also work in most stokers but can be probelmatic. I'm guessing you aren't going to find either in bags.
The only coal I've mixed when delivering was pea and nut, they call that range. That's for hand fired stoves.
