Glenn Beck explained that commercial very well (not a direct quote, but I'll summarize): This is the product of a FOCUS GROUP - a bunch of people that sit around a table and say ... what do we need to do to sell these things? What things are popular today? This is what they came up with.

I totally agree with that. We all know GM doesn't agree or follow the principles outlined in the ad .... otherwise they'd have NEVER taken government money to begin with!! People aren't buying their cars, #1: because quality is down the toilet, and, #2: nobody wants to support a company bailed out and actually OWNED by the government for a period of time.

I've been a GM fan my entire life .... right up until I bought my '07 Silverado brand new - first new vehicle I've ever owned. My support was waning at that point ...and then they got bailed out. That was it for me. No more GM cars OR parts.

GM is losing money like crazy. They're desperate. They think we're going to watch this commercial and go " HEY! GM AGREES WITH OUR PRINCIPLES!" . I for one am NOT convinced by this ONE commercial. Actions speak louder than words ....

They should've been left to die!

Most GM, Ford or any other fan will still buy even when screwed so they are going to sell their share of lower priced cars & trucks. They have a big investment in development & a small market so they try & appeal to the BMW type market, make it sound like your being patriotic (catch word), like it's what the up & comers as well as established money is doing. Besides the common easy cheap cars are being made & sold in China in GM plants & they aren't paying tax to the US.

Er, ahhh......no business pays income taxes, period.

The consumer pays ALL of "their" taxes.

They are built into the price of the goods or services we all buy.

I agree. No matter how you slice it, only the living can pay taxes.

The main reason we need to repeal 16A.

It in and of itself, has created a huge number of hidden taxes we all pay without even batting an eye.

But, but corporations are people too, don't you remember that crap? If I help produce a product my share of income tax is also paid by the consumer, everything somewhere along the line is both earned & paid so everyone should pay tax. If there is a tax on one it should be on all, I'll pay mine & you pay yours rather simple wouldn't be too many pages involved.

Wrong.

Your income tax via the cost of your wage is also built into the price of the goods or services.

Only consumers pay corporate taxes , corporations then pass those taxes along to the fed for you.

Sam, it's really quite simple. if the government taxes a corporation, it raises its prices accordingly so the tax is being paid by the living. Ultimately all corporate income comes from the consumer, so if overall corporate expenses (taxes being part of those expenses) rise, prices must likewise rise.

So then your saying that if we have all Corp.s (which are now people) you seem to quit forgetting that. Then they get all the Gov. services & infrastructure for free along with all the subsidies some get then we should be able to buy that Caddy for $19.95 & if you order now you will get two at that same low price + shipping & handling. :D
