I'll the stove alone and pay attention to her

Silly man, there is lots of fun coal things you can do in the summer. One of my best summer projects was to pick up a new coal stove when it was 92*. I had the place to myself and got a courtesy tour and a cup of coffee offered. The way you are proceeding she will just get spoiled this summer. Send her up on the roof to clean the chimney. If a thunderstorm threatens, make sure she knows to drop to her knees.

The trick is to make sure you start way back on the grate and bury the charcoal with as much coal as you can on top
