Something To Remember,My Coal Faithful !

PostBy: Hambden Bob On: Sat Mar 15, 2014 11:23 am

Yes Gang,Even this version of Winter is slowly marching to the Finish Line ! Don't forget about the beating we've all taken. Coal Projects ahead are even better when shared here during our slower Summer Months here on 'Der Coal Board. High Quality Advice is never "Out Of Season"! Remember to stop by,wipe the 'Ye Olde Sweat from your brow, and talk about how the Winter of '13-'14 has taught us to make hay while the Sun Shines. Coal Bins,Appropriate Financials To Build A Stockpile,Coal Quality and Pricing will be on the front burner. Then of course, there's always the Machete Swingin' in the Political and Thoughtful Debates Section...Oh to Hell with that....maybe will just complain that we'll be warm next Winter!

Schwanx Alot,Flyer ! As usual,I'm only as Good as the Folks I'm with! It's easy for us to want to put the rear-end kickings some of us have taken this Winter Way behind Us. Things are a little too late at the point of impact, and your out of Bullets,so to speak. Start looking now for that New Stove or Boiler....Start eyeballing the Classifieds for that "New To You" Stove or Boiler. Thinking about Hot Water? Start researching the Treasure Trove of Threads to learn a lot more. Buy Material over several Months to lessen the Sting of the Financial Outlay. Remember a page from 'Ol Ham's Playbook:"Cheap Kills".....I'd rather have a Unit and System that can Roll right through a Brutal Cold Snap, then idle back for more Moderate Cold. Don't constantly beat the snot out of your stuff by pushing the high end all the time. Also,Tired of Wet,Frozen Coal? Plan Now,and gently spend the Cashola over the Off-Season to build that Fort Knox of a Coal Bin to House The Black Gold ! Do get a few buckets of Target Coal to burn first, before ordering that Barge Load and then be disappointed. Now's the Time,My Carbonites!! toothy :punk: :flex:

Grille........

Isn't that inner city slang for gold toofers ????

We use our portable gas cooking appliance almost every Saturday night for steaks unless it is -20 with a stiff breeze.

Good post there HB. Now is the time to assess your coal usage for the year. Did you have enough ?? Think you might need an additional ton or 2 ?? You could get that additional dumped on a tarp and first burn that next fall and keep the bin full longer. Just remember, the coal will not go bad if you have any leftovers. Unlike last week's tuna noodle casserole.........

Well Thanx,Rick ! I'm trying. Something I plain flat forgot about was Insulation ! We had a lot of Folks Run into Frozen Pipes ! Get that chased down and remedied before it gets too darn hot to be in some areas, like the attic. I just had some time to review our past Winter together, and thought that if I could help just one of Our Coalers to not re-visit some bad Winter Moments, well, that would be a good thing ! :fear:
