Shutting down coal stove question

PostBy: bmerk On: Wed Apr 02, 2014 7:56 pm

This has been my first season with my coal stove - Alaska Stoker I. I will be shutting it down this month. Does it matter if coal is left in the hopper? Is there anything that I should be aware of?

Clean, clean, and coat the inside with fluid film, LPS3 or any other anti corrosion product of choice to keep the steel from rusting, some use a 40 or 60 watt incandescent bulb to keep humidity at bay. There are many links about summer storage here.
