The Gun That Aims Itself...

The Gun That Aims Itself...

Thought this was pretty neat. It's amazing how technology advances. The thread title and title of the video are by all accounts misleading. The gun really doesn't aim itself, the shooter does. All the gun really does is figures out all the other variables for you. I still think that even though it makes it easier to shoot and possibly hit a target it doesn't actually guarantee you do get a kill. There are other factors in play to cause a "miss" that the optics of the gun can't figure out. I'm sure the liberal gun grabbing retarded politicians are going to have a way to spin this and make it seem like the gun will aim and fire without any outside interaction or manipulation.

And I can never get the YouTube tags to work.

The tag worked for me. Thanks for posting.

Neat gizmos if you have the money. I've heard that it's about 20k for one of those.

And, it still has the biggest problems with long range shooting - doping the winds and dealing with accurately knowing where the target is when viewed through any mirage.

Much cheaper to get one of these, http://mildotmaster.com/ and spend your money on practice.

Or, do like I do, . . just get closer ! ;)

Yeah, they did point out in the documentary that when they were firing from the hilltop down at the targets the wind was carrying the bullets to the left so none of the rounds actually were on target.

It's definitely a neat thing but very costly and doesn't replace a good shooter with some practice.

All thru history most guns aim themselves, every time some careless fool or a young child gets a gun left by some careless fool "accidently" pulls the trigger they unfortunately find that the gun aimed at something & all too often hit a very unintended target. As was said practice & above all be responsible, there isn't a gun that will give a do over.

It doesn't aim itself but it is a gun that hopefully we will keep for ourselves.

I wonder if that's the one from Picatinny Arsenal? I believe they were working on two of the rail guns there. When I was on base that was one of the building we were not allowed in.

The Navy claims to also have a engine in the works that runs on sea water, & already have it ready to install on a ship for testing in the near future. I almost took a job at the Navy Sub. Base in Kings Bay, Georgia (I believe that was the name) & during the tour there were several places that I couldn't see unless I took the job.
