For my KA6 install along side the fuel oil furnace. What do you recommend for zone controllers and circulation pumps. Looks like the ones I have now are a all in one system.
Anyone have some pictures of how they installed the system they have? I want to be able to quickly and easily switch from coal to fuel oil incase we have to leave for more then a day or two.

Looks like maybe another off to the left just off camera?

please look at Primary Secondary - Heat Loss, Flow Rates & Water Temps

That Flo-Check is installed 90 degrees out from proper orientation.

Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions. I really don't know much about this stuff. That " Primary Secondary - heat loss, flow rates & water temps" thread doesn't make much sense to me. I did measure my baseboards end to end:

Zone 1
Living room
39"
82"
93"

Front Room
120"

Master Bedroom
98"

Bedroom 1
50"

Bedroom 2
50"

532 total for just under 45'

Zone 2
Is the kitchen radiant floor

Zone 3
Is the bathroom radiant floor

The basement has two baseboards but it looks like they just room whenever the other zones are on.

I don't see the radiant floor doing that much for us. The basement is never that cold because of the baseboards down there. I was thinking maybe I could set them all up to run at the same time. I don't know if that's a good idea or not.

Your 2nd pic., red Flo-Checks, besides 90 out orientation, only can have 1 in and 1 out...same as all the others.

It does. . Look closer you'll see a plug in the bottom. That's just electrical piping going behind it.

Taco Flo-Check Valves prevent "gravity" circulation when the boiler is hot and automatically open when circulators start running.
1: So these Flo-Check valves are really just a one way valve?

2: The green ones look to be a circulating pump and zone control? I've seen these before as two different parts.

Too ,I think the circulators are not supposed to be oriented upside down like that. They need to be rotated 90 or 180 degrees. Not sure why but thats whats in the instructions.....

You also have several circulators installed with the motors in a vertical orientation. They will suffer a premature failure because the bearings are not made to hold them other than in a horizontal position.

So as I have been dragged thur the coal bin just this week for suggesting -- I have to do it again == get the books and do a little reading first - then lets chat

Kind Regards
