Can someone help me find info on my Keystoker

PostBy: lili On: Fri Feb 01, 2008 12:58 pm

I have owned my 2 Keystoker stoker stoves got quite some time (the first and larger unit purchased 1988 and the second in 2002). I have switched heating my living space from 2 stoker stoves to a basement EFM steam unit. I would like to sell my Keystokers, but have no Idea how to figure out how may BTUs they are rated for, so I can appropriately represent them when listing them. Anyone have any idea where I can find this listed on the stove?

If you have a picture of them, someone can probably help out on here.

Sometimes there a data plate on the back of them....might give some info.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the info. I may need to do that.

The Back plate just says reg. Keystone MFg.# 1073 It actually looks like the one that europachris has posted with his signature, but the glass has been replaced, (by Keystoker) with sheet metal. (The glass broke in the original and we were tired of trying to keep the glass clean, so we replaced it with the metal. I actually live about 20 minutes for the Keystoker plant.)

My husband was the Keystoker expert. He cared for both stoves and they did a great job heating our old and drafty house. He used to have the literature for the stove, but he passed away in 2004, and I can't seem to locate it.
Thanks

Keystoker is 'old school' about records. [This is a GOOD thing] They have a 'build sheet' on each of their stoves produced, so if you call them with the number on the stove's ID plate, they can find the build sheet on the stove, and give you the info you need.

If you go to their factory, you probably could get photocopies of the records to give to the buyer of the stoves.
Hope this helps.
