So, I spotted a Crawford No. 3 today for dirt money. One piece of top trim chrome missing, but that's it.
Can I get repair parts ? The tin is dented but nothing else is missing.
How long can she burn ?

If I don't buy her does anyone want me to grab it for them ? Not for a profit, you guys have helped me plenty !

Thanks Dave 8-)

Dave

YOU are CRAZY if you do not snag this unit. Assuming 1) it is decent shape and 2) the person selling it doesn't want a ton of money.

My #2 has burned for 48 hours and I would bet Emery at the Stove Hospital can take care her rehab wise.

BTW.. Since Freetown Fred is under the weather allow me to fill in for him... FILL IN YOUR PROFILE and TELLS US YOUR LOCATION... No one is going to steal ya!!!

Yes, please buy it, and fill in your location.
If you do not want to keep it, PM me with info and we'll talk, I'm not sure what parts you say are missing,

A few photos of the stove would help a lot.

Thanks

"dirt money"? pics?

If dirt money is a couple hundred bucks or less then grab it! id buy it sight unseen for that kinda money (the finial could be worth that alone).

Ok, got her bought.
I'm a boiler guy but a coal burner is like beer, all of 'em are good !
My buddy at the junk yard hit me 75 buck so guess the next stop should be to rehab, get her all fixed up.
Sorry, I can't load up any pics, I am terrible with tech stuff. I can send a pic by phone if someone can post it.

Dave Thanks !!! 8-)

Congratulations Dave - What a great score!

Emery at the Stove Hospital is currently working on my No. 3. Hope he'll have it done by July!

I also have a No. 2 I've decided I want to have restored as well. Emery can handle a lot of the major issues, such as missing parts. My No. 3 is missing the draw grate, dome and finial and one piece of top trim - no problem for him to replicate (his words).

My No. 2, on the other hand is more of a challenge, since it's missing the iron suspended firepot, stove lid, and all the nickle trim (except the dome and finial). The No, 2 draw grate is in mint condition, however.

I paid $50 for the No. 3 and $200 for the No. 2, last Fall.

Please keep us updated as to your progress. Crawfords are real gems, and I have high hopes for mine.

Chris
