If only we had a group of people who would represent the common man and look out for our constitutional rights......

One question....how can evil businesses take away something most of us don't have anyway?

More corporations are evil, from another Lib leaning site.

Sam, do you think that story about not being able to sue corps is as accurate as another one of their stories on that same linked page ? The one where they say that a family of three could live on the minimum wage in 1968, but can't today ? Guess they thought no one would bother looking up that the actual 1968 minimum wage was $1.60.

Or, what the Federal poverty level also was in 1968 either.

And I guess they thought math didn't matter either. Working full time, 40 hours a week, for 52 weeks, in 1968 for $1.60 an hour, is about $500.00 a year below the 1968 Fed poverty level.

My father was making roughly four times that minimum wage in '68 and with a family of four then, we still had to pinch pennies. My sister and I had to get jobs if we wanted any spending money of our own. And we all weren't paying for cell phones, internet, cable TV, credit card debt, and many other things that didn't exist back then.

The libs always leave out that the minimum wage was never meant to support a family on, ever !

And those supposedly evil corps do more for supporting working Americans than the people on the Gov. dole.

Say what you want about capitalism and businesses, but remember the saying, "No poor person ever gave me a job."

Yeah, no leftist agendas with that site.

It's unlikely this would ever make it past a judge if it came to that.

You can blame the lawyers for these overly broad warnings, TOS's etc. They are just trying to cover as many bases as possible.

Sorry that I posted something that I mistakenly thought would be in all of our best interests to check up on, apparently if it concerns big business taking away rights then it's their right to do so. I'll try & remember not to let it happen again.

Sam you're more than welcome to post anything you want but if someone were suing a corporation the judge is going to do a big LOL if they try and say someone signed their rights way because they used their website. You're going to find blanket policies like this on every site you visit, it's a preemptive measure for the future for things some lawyer might dream up to sue over.

Sam,
Don't give up so easily if your worried about it. Do your homework. :D

Your title ends with (maybe) and you admit you didn't have time to check it out. Why should you be sorry if no one else wanted to check it out either ?

I did read it, but as soon as I read the part about Corp America bribing the Supreme Court and other outlandish comments, I knew that site had an agenda and it lost all credibility with me.

No where do they show proof that what they claim Corporations are doing has been held up in a court of law. Not even in other stories they link to as part of it. It's all just speculation meant to get people's emotions running high.

I saw that one item about minimum wage and knew it would be easy to find the Government stats for the years they are making a claim about. Sure enough, it proved the site was wrong by quite a bit. So, why should I, or anyone else, spend more time figuring out what is, or isn't legal based on a story from a site that is so biased and not willing to show proof to back up it's accusations ?

Again, how can they take away something that most people don't have anyway?

I posted an ACLU website in hopes that Sam would accept it as a valid source. I guess he didn't have time to look at that either....

Per the ACLU fully 2/3 of all Americans live in what they are referring to as a Constitution free (or Constitution highly restricted) zone. Amazing. Technically (if not factually) 2/3 of Americans have no rights. Only privileges.
