Good Morning & Happy Mothers Day to all, we always tend to go out to eat or whatever a day or so after to avoid the crowds (even around here) seems like people get in a foul mode while trying to enjoy a special day. Got the grass cut for the second time yesterday (just in case), it's going to be nice so things can change the Humming Birds are back so the feeders are out & there are more Herons nests in the trees than I've ever seen before. Hope everyone has a good safe day "enjoy".

Happy Mothers Day!
Freddy, I stole your breakfast idea, tweaked it a little, and this morning I made my wife Four-Berry Pancakes. They have Blueberry, Blackberry, Strawberry, and Raspberry. They were fantastic!

Yesterday we got the two largest logs milled up. It took three of us to roll the cant until all 4 sides were square. These 2 logs yielded 15 each 2x10's that are 22ft long. These will be the rafters for my Lean-to shed roof, on the backside of the Workshop. They are all stacked in the Storage barn until they dry out.

A really wonderful day today, around 70*, light breeze, mostly sunny, the grass is growing as I watch..
Funny thing about this weather. Last year, the Cleveland pear trees and the weeping cherry trees budded out, and bloomed at the same time, This year, right now, the pear trees are in full bloom, a bit thin, but blooming. The weeping cherry tree has zero, nadda, nothing. I was concerned that the -20's* might have killed the trees, but I can see tiny, buds, on the branches, the buds are about 1/8" diameter, and about 1/4" long, I can't tell if they are blooms or leaves. From the color, I'm thinking leaves.
The maple trees, the river birch, and the japanese red maple and pear tree are both budding out.

OK, the sun is still fairly high in the sky, so I'd better go get some more work done.

By the way, I posted on a different thread about Freetown Fred: I spoke with him Sunday afternoon, he sounds much better, but he has a LONG way to go on the road to full recovery, He was told to expect for every week he was in the hospital, to need a MONTH for recovery of strength. So sometime around Thanksgiving this year !! Fred should be up to being his cantankerous self.

Fred's energy levels are severely taxed by the mental as well as physical tasks. He told me he had only been on the Forum twice in the three days he'd been home. The efforts to get to the computer desk, get it fired up, connected to the internet, [I think he has to re-tension the string to his neighbors's tin can] get signed onto the forum, the start reading.. Well he's exhausted by the time he reads a few posts, then doesn't have the energy to reply.

So it will be a while before we see a lot of Fred on the forum.. Give him a few weeks..

Glad to see he's home! That's a big help in the healing process - hospitals suck! ;)

Holy crap ... the weekend just blew right by. Monday's already done! WTF happened??? :o :|

When you posted those pictures of the great job you did on that floor, I was afraid somebody might steal ya. That Hamden Bob was starting to look suspicious.

Seeing HB post in the coffee shop on a Friday gives me flashbacks................

I thought I might have over slept and missed a day this week. :nana:

Like Fred needs encouragement to become grumpy..... Haha Haven't laughed that hard in a while.
