You definitely have the knack for finding the best stoves, and at reasonable prices.

The Stewart BB is AWESOME. How much nickle is it going to need?

How are the grates?

Any significant cracks?

Post LOTS of pictures. These base burners are fascinating.

How about a bit on your other stoves?

Great work - Chris

Thanks Chris. Overall the stove is in good shape but there are some cracks here and there. The grates and firepot are perfect. Unfortunately there are no nickel plated parts. It's all black. I'm going to put this one aside and start the oak 40. Here's some other pics Hope you guys like them.

I've been on a relentless pursuit to get where I am today. I've also had the luxury of having Skip (wilsons woodstoves) to help guide and educate me to all that is antique stoves. He s done a lot of work for me and I can't thank him enough. I lucked living 25 min away. And I have the rest of you guys for everything else. Thanks again for everyone that has helped me along the way. :D

Why are my stoves laying on the ground

Which one are you going to use? Or are you going to use more than one? You have a nice set of top notch stoves there.

Hello William. Thank you. Since the number 6 is my favorite and ready to go. It will be the first one on the block to run. I wish I had an older home with more chimineys and more options. I would like eventually to buy an cook stove and use that and the 6. That will be it for me for a long while unless I come across something I can't resist. :)

Congrats! Another nice find. Surprising it's that fancy, yet no bling ?

Now, you either have to start collecting used chimneys , . . . or find a house like Wilson's. :D

Thanks Paul. If I had a home like skips it would be a dream come true. I'd have them all hooked up and running. I can accept the fact and be happy with just one.

Nice score!. You could really hollywood that thing up with nickel.

It still amazes me how much some stoves look alike from manufacturer to manufacturer. I was looking at a Peninsular stove that looks identical to the one you picked up.....which doesn't look much different than a Garland and probably a few others. The pattern maker must have moved around a lot or one foundry made parts for everyone.

Thanks. I agree. They all look very similar. Some more jazzed up or more over the top. I would say they copied each other because the design and function was a proven combination. Sort of like the glenwood 6 , wings best and herald 6. If you can't beat them , join them. I started to restore the oak 40 so the Stewart will get put in storage till I can save some real money. The nickel is going to cost a gold coin or two. :)
