WalMart is beginning to collapse. A sure sign of recession.

I don't know but it doesn't look like they are too close to a collapse, they can always get rid of the cart return machines.

This may have something to do with their bottom line, naturally it has nothing to do with the way they normally do business.

It's a rare day indeed when a company that is on top of the world one year hits the bottom of the world the next. But the tide has turned for WalMart. Give them a decade and see if they are closing stores by the droves and cutting staff by the droves and doing all of the things a dying corporation does to stave off further decline.

I hope they don't start laying people off. Otherwise my wife will be out of a job. Not that she loves working for WallyWorld or anything, and she probably wouldn't lose any sleep over being laid off but we just can't afford that.

Immigration reform may yet save WalMart. In fact, without immigration our nations population would already be in precipitous decline, and that would not work well with a Federal Reserve based monetary system that requires endless monetary expansion and inflation, and ditto for the entire corporatocracy, which is founded upon the fallacy of growth equaling prosperity.

That is always the problem with Pyramid Schemes. You have to keep sucking in a wider base of chumps at the bottom of the pile to hold up the instigators at the top.

The revised figures were released today, and the nations GDP "growth" actually was -0.99% for the last quarter. As goes WalMart, so goes the nations GDP.

Isnt walmart an american founded company??? I get this feeling of major resentment towards wallys world and i cant understand why. If you dont like thier way of business dont go thier, not a hard choice. I enjoy going to wally's world, i can purchase the same products found in my local grocery for a fraction of the cost, like shaving cream or anti-perspirant. I think this country has bigger issues than walmart. Just my .02$

Clearly you don't know of anyone that works there. My wife does. She is treated like a piece of property. She's been there for 16 years and she gets 38 hours of vacation and five sick days. BUT, in order for her to get paid for ONE sick day she needs to be out two days. So, technically she gets 2.5 paid sick days.

She is the only person doing her job, which requires her to lift in excess of 100 pound items. They expect her to move 1600+ pieces of stock in a 6 hour shift because that's all she gets. When she asks for help they ignore her. But yet, they expect her to get it done. If she takes a day off, they specifically tell other employees just to, "Leave it." so that when my wife gets in from either he day off of a scheduled vacation day she is "punished" and is forced to do more work. Then they bitch that it is not done. She got a hernia last year because of this and went in for surgery and was out 9 weeks. The day before she left for surgery her manager walked up to her and tried to convince her to cancel her surgery and remain at work. When my wife declined her manager point black told my wife, 'Well, I just want to let you know that you are screwing us.' Not to mention, Walmart attempted to deny her disability pay when she was out on disability due to the surgery they were the cause of.

I about got in my truck and drove down there when she called me crying and put my boot to this *censored*'s throat. She works 38 hours a week and is not considered full-time and yet, when she asks for more time she is repeatedly denied. She is owed three additional weeks of vacation and when she tries to get it they turn around and deny her the time and cite, 'Well...your start date is actually this date....' which in effect moves her seniority back. She's been with them 16 years but every time she asks about her owed vacation they constantly come back with...'Well you've only been in your position for two years and aren't entitled to any more vacation.'

They do not allow her to leave early if there is an emergency. They give her a hard time when she is too sick to work. Walmart claims to be an EOE but they are not, my wife along with thousands of other women are treated like property. Walmart feels that you are at their beckoned call 24/7.

Walmart is a piece of *censored* and if they folded tomorrow I can almost guarantee you that no matter how much my wife and I need her to work, neither of us would lose any sleep if she was "let-go" from there. If it weren't for my wife being employed there I wouldn't shop there, ever.

AND, that is the reality of it all Anthony!! It's not Wally World, it's about the greed this Country has adopted with it's lack of acknowledging the money a working grunt makes & what his monthly expenditures are. Wally Worlds not going any where. My personal feelings are---if a person doesn't like their working conditions where they are---QUIT---

When WalMart started it was on the premise that it would only handle American made goods, after the founder was gone so was that idea. If everyone dislikes welfare so much as they claim then they should dislike WalMart, they only allow people enough money & hours to make under the amount that qualifies them for assistance so in reality the tax payer is subsidizing their workforce, it's a designed employment practice.

Not that easy my friend. My wife makes about $18 an hour working there. Sure, $18 an hour is not a lot by any stretch of the imagination. HOWEVER, when all you've worked is retail at Walmart since you graduated high school you are kind of "typecasted" to always work retail. And therein lies the problem. When you go to apply at another retail location and the interview turns to payment and you tell the interviewer that at your old job of Walmart you were making $18 an hour you will be laughed at and told, 'Yeah, well we start our employees out at $9 an hour.'

This actually happened to my wife when she tried to leave Walmart. She went to another retail store in a rich neighborhood thinking she'd have a better chance at landing a job and make the same amount of money...or close to it. She went on several interviews and at one point the manager of one store laughed in her face, openly laughed at her and point blank told her that she'd be lucky to see $10 an hour.

Sure, she could go into another field, but what? All she knows is retail. She has 0 experience in any other field. No one is going to hire her. I'm sure it's the same for other people who work at Walmart.
