Stoker Coal Boiler: 1948 International boiler, EFM S-20 stoker
Coal Size/Type: Buck,

I figure a few guys will install a stoker over this summer/fall, .

Last year was my first time running a stoker, over the summer I had several out-fires. My unit was aided by a timer but still a few times I had an out-fire. Dave O'Neil is my EFM dealer/friend and he helped me stop this from reocouring , (read, more air).
This year I put in an old 1948 International boiler from Dave.

When I assembled the base, this time flat rope stove gaskets were used at all openings. I glued them to the panels before install with automotive whether strip adhesive, (easy, cheap, works).

Now 2 months later, (no timer) I have a nice no drama boiler. She holds a fire great and I beleave most of my past struggles were due to poor seal at several base areas. I'm using the same stoker as last year, still an EFM base, same baro, same chimney and flue.

I know this is basic 1-0-1 for the stoker veterans but maybe of some value to a first time installer for this year.
