I just filled the boiler up, and the closing tale of the tape for May is 593 lbs. burned. Backing out for 202 recorded May heating degree days, I calculate that when none of the homes thermostats are calling for heat I'm burning ~15.5 lbs. per day (on average) to both heat our homes DHW and keep the fire burning in the AHS S130 Coal Gun.

My best guess is that of this 15.5 lbs., roughly 4.5 lbs. per day are for DHW, and about 11 lbs per day are needed just to keep the fire lit. But these two go hand in hand, and are not really separate.

For the first time since last summer I'm seeing a lot of partially burned coal in with the ashes.

Didn't touch the ashes all week here, almost full, and the bucket is heavy. Still in the 40's here a few mornings although I think I have the thermostat turned down to 65. Cranked the Anthrastat to 130, doesn't seem to be much difference than 140, might try 120.

720 lbs for May, DHW only. Still trying to fine tune the EFM.
