Sam,
Don't be so quick to hate all those people and corporations with money. When did you ever get a paycheck from a poor person?

SB, funny thing that you should ask about pay checks, my son basically got fed up with his business & sold it off. To be honest it was as much if not more not being able to find ethical workers as it was getting paid from big business & wealthy. When he did jobs for middle class people he never really had much trouble. In my business I worked for quite a few wealthy, some I never even saw & just worked with their lawyers but most of my clients weren't that well off. I never had even one middle wage earning American even try to stiff me but the big money guys (not all) were a different story.

I don't blame your son at all. The worst day of my business was the day I turned myself into a boss. The best day was when my last employee left to start his own business. Great kid and I miss him, but my job got so much easier ! Now I'm back to doing what I started this business for.

As far as customer wealth levels go, quite a few of my customers are "very well off". I've seen good and bad in both middle and upper class. One of my wealthiest customers helped me tremendously with a lot of business advice when I was first starting out. More than once, he even pointed out billing errors where I shorted myself. Several have become long time family friends, of which the two closest are old time Democrats ! :D

I agree SB, you'll notice I did not say all. I still have one lawyer that calls from time to time asking if I would do one more sale, the last one was extremely tempting but I turned it down. My son had IMO way too many Corp. clients & they take forever to pay but do. He had some others that he had to take to court which costs him in both time & money but always got paid. The biggest problem again IMO was employees, a couple good ones & the rest slugs, he ended up helping one buy the business & he downsized a good bit & didn't keep any of the crews he used to work with, now my son on occasion helps him. Funny I don't recall ever asking anyone I worked for which political party they were, there are great people everywhere & doing every type of work.

I don't ask my customers their political party either, but when they become close family friends for many years, we talk about things other than just work. I only mention it so you realize I don't hate all libs.

One of those two Dems I mentioned is my first customer from over 30 years ago and Godfather to my youngest daughter.

The other Dem has been a customer and friend for 20 years. He stays here so often that we refer to the guest room as "Tony's room". :D

See, I can play nice sometimes.

I hear you SB, you just hate the poor libs :P , just kidding. A friend of mine called me & asked about a post I replied to on FB about voting for a paralyzed cop that my S-in-L knows well I guess a car modifier gave away a handicapped equipped car to the one with the most votes. The one I voted for was way behind, she asked me what I knew about him so gave her my S-in-Ls # & she called her & then the next thing we knew she called the cop & told him to remove his name because she was buying him a vehicle. They got him a pick-up (I think it is) fully loaded crewcab equipped for him, so sometimes things work in a strange way anyhow I'm pretty sure they are republican but maybe not, doesn't really matter but a real generous offer out of the blue. I very seldom if ever get involved in political discussions even with my closest friends, just never seems to come up.

:D No problem ! Just 'cause their wrong doesn't mean we can't be good friends !

Besides, we seldom talk politics. And when we do, the key phrase is they are "old time Democrats". For all of you that are too young to know what that means, that's more like today's Republicans. Both voted for Clinton and both willing admit that they were very disappointed !

So you see, there are some Demo's that aren't too far gone ! :D

I still say Sam is a confused Conservative. He was raised a Dem and is told to be liberal but common sense intervenes and confuses him. LOL \

Hah! I’m old enough to remember when Democrats supported slavery and half of Republicans supported Medicare! :o

Ditto. Shitty taste in girlfriends. But there have been no presidents I was completely satisfied with, and none I was completely dissatisfied with, even Tricky Dick who started this thread. Vice-presidents? Spiro Agnew and Dan Quayle come to mind as having no redeeming social value. :(
