Have we completely lost Iraq, and are we losing Afghanistan?

PostBy: lsayre On: Wed Jun 11, 2014 9:59 pm

And what was there to "win" in these God forsaken lands in the first place? Why are our soldiers dying and getting maimed in these hell holes?

I still recall that nearly all (OK, a certified 15 of 19) of the 9/11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia. We sell them our nearly most advanced arms and consider them faithful allies.

I also recall that Afghanistan has been labeled the nation where empires go to die (beginning with Alexander the Great, who stated that Afghanistan is "easy to march into, hard to march out of.").

Obummer is getting serious. He has stationed two more B2 and some B52s in the UK. They were freed up as the Mexicans were complaining that first class seating was serving substandard meals in their flights to MA. You can't fix stupid.

So now we have Sunni Iraq again and they can resume fighting Iran one more time and strangle the worlds oil supply. This next round will be interesting, a mentality that rounded up thousands if children armed only with the Koran and got them to charge machine gun nests so the enemy gunners would be distracted will now be fought with nukes and chemical weapons. Another foreign policy total bust. Of course, the democrats will blame Bush who won the war (yes it was a lousy war and I miss Saddam). It's really hard to screw up the peace but you know who has managed it. Got coal as the HO market this morning is already starting to react to that possibility..... elections have consequences.

For the record. I CALLED THIS YEARS AGO.

I did. I said that once we pulled out of Iraq give it a year and they'd be at each others throats again. Sure as *censored*, a year after we left these savages are back to killing one another. It's only going to get worse over there and here's my take on it.

LET THEM KILL ONE ANOTHER. If the US wants to assist in their mutually assured destruction the US can use those bombers to drop some nukes.

coalnewbie quote, " ......will now be fought with nukes and chemical weapons. ...."

Can't happen - the libs assured us that there is no WMD in Iraq. And it's too late to get their nuke stuff back from Libya and their chem stuff back from Syria.

Stone age tribal mentality still exists in the mid east, . . and will for a long time. For centuries, no one has been better at killing Arabs, than Arabs. And for centuries, as soon as any referee nations walk off the field, the Arabs go right back to killing each other. Only thing they hate more than each other is infidels !

IoF, I'm with you on this except that we never had Iraq, the U.S. probably has the longest track record in history of appointing leaders of puppet nations, I think making leaders in our own image has something to do with it. Crooks appointing crooks never works, their was a reason they were lead by a tyrant, that's the only thing that keeps the other would be's somewhat in line. We never had Iraq & we never had or will have Afghanistan, should have never gone there in the first place, as for the American businesses there, screw them if they don't know enough to get out shame on em. The bad part is we have left the terrorists well equipped but just think of all the parts & ammo we can sell them. Unfortunately by we I mean American businesses that will sell for big money that the U.S. will never see a dime of & for that we sent brave troops into a meat grinder & then keep refusing to even vote on bills to help them upon return, anyone that refuses to vote or votes no on a clean bill to aid the vets should be escorted out of office lead by vets.

Have we LOST them???? We never HAD them! We pissed away American blood and guts for a civilization that is still living in the 6th century. A total waste. Let them have it. Shed no more blood and spend not a dime more. Just target every city with a warhead and give us a new President with the balls to push the button when the time comes. Not the useless POS who cares nothing about the country we have now.

14 billion to train the Iraqi security forces....and they throw down their weapons, abandon their posts and go off into the desert. WTF! I don't even dare to think about the civilians, who are the innocent victims. Lots of money wasted to attempt to fight that war, and political restriction that tied one hand behind your back, and decision making removed from the battlefield to some quiet, cool comfortable room on the central part of the east coast.......

WTF waste any warheads or anything else, allow them to live as they want it's none of our business Iraq did nothing to us to invade them over. We never should have done anything but a flyover in Afghanistan, drop a few on their training camps & if they rebuild repeat.

The warheads are a deterrent to let all nations that harbor/train/fund terrorists that attack OUR COUNTRY know that they will be held responsible in the most severe manner possible. It won't take long after the first mushroom cloud dissipates for them to realize that the US has once again become a force to reckon with rather than a nation of cowards and procrastinators. As for interfering with their governmental system, like you said, let them rot in the 6th century mentality they love so much.
