I usually agree with you but I am not seeing it here. Was there a different speech?
What did you miss? What difference does it make where you live? You have the same rights as country bumpkins. You cannot define 2A rights by local!
"I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I’m afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it,"
I guess it could be taken that way. But he does not say you should not have it. Just he would rather you not have it if it could fall in the hands of a crazy person. I would have rather Lanza's mother did not have them. She had a right to them but I would have rathered she didn't have them. I don't think his comment was very well worded. He would still be 1000s times better than the scum in there now. But I understand what you are saying as well I would not give him an A for NRA rating . Maybe a B-.
Lanza's mother had a right, and she also had a responsibility that she somehow failed at.
This is one of the mysteries yet to be uncovered by the press. Knowing her son's condition she apparently didn't secure those guns well enough. Either in a secure enough enclosure such as a gun safe, or if it was a gun safe, she let him know the lock combination.
Not sure we'll ever find out, but that part of that case has lead to some laws dealing with how guns are to be stored when there are others living there who shouldn't have access to guns.
I don't think any regulation or new gun laws will make any difference. Common sense gun laws are bull *censored* gun grabbing smoke screen. Common sense is disappearing from society. I think Dr Carson sees this. Accountability is disappearing as well. Now it is acceptable to push the blame down the road. Lanza's mother and father are much to blame but the system also failed. Adam needed some help and discipline that I would bet under law was not allowed. Back to this scandal . Lois Lerner will be the fall guy / girl. This administration likes using women to be fall people because they get the sympathetic side of people. If they use a man he would just be portrayed as evil and the head hunters would push harder. But then you have holder who you hear very little from except when he plays the race victim then they leave him alone again because nobody wants to be raciest. The IRS investigation will just get lost behind the next scandal. It is just not important enough because it only effects a small population and a group that the govts says are moonbats anyway. Hell we couldn't even get uproar over 4 dead Americans. So we say "What difference does it make " and move on with our lives. Most of us do not have time to march Washington for our beliefs because we are tied up with our jobs and responsibilities. While the low life's that work hard for their welfare can sit on the steps of Washington for days and fight for vacation money as well. \
Never ascribe to malevolence a thing that can be simply laid at the door of incompetence. I'm not sure where this goes but also consider Benghastly. Alas the Hildebeast was paying more attention to Presidential bid than worrying about doing her job. She was 0 for 94 as a NY Senator and a total screw up as Sec of State. So of course the libs will vote her in for President in 2016. Obvious really. We all KNOW Mr Ketchup man will screw up the ME like Billiary and so we limp on. Let's all worry about gay marriage issues. Went to the Warwick (NY) market Sunday morning. Big Gay Pride march and I was in a car stuck between two warring factions. One side had placards stating morons/perverts and the rest were screaming at them. More liberal stupidity - and so we limp on.
A Treasury inspector general has recovered some data that might include missing emails from former IRS official Lois Lerner, the Senate’s top tax writers said Friday.
Finance Chairman Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and the committee’s top Republican, Sen. Orrin Hatch (Utah), said that Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration (TIGTA) is currently working to see if it can give the recovered forensic data that might include Lerner’s emails to the committee in a readable form.
A GOP congressional aide who has also been briefed by the inspector general's office said Friday that the watchdog had found up to 30,000 emails either to or from Lerner between 2009 and 2011.
